The Caring Hands Society is a charitable society run by the students from the Advanced Level classes of IIGS. The purpose of this society is to raise funds in order to alleviate the needs of the poor and help to improve society and make it a better place for everyone. Several fund-raising activities are organized annually in aid of the less fortunate & deserving amongst us who need a helping hand.

One of the most popular fund-raising event organized by the Caring Hands Society is the annual charity carnival. It was held on the 13th of January 2017 and the theme for the year was ‘Hope in Motion’. The carnival was a successful fun filled event, that was open to the general public too.

The fundraising events proved extremely successful to enable the society to make generous contributions towards a water connection project carried by Families Relief Sri Lanka Trust & to make a cash donation to the CIS Infants Home & Orphanage.

The society’s aims & aspirations to ease the suffering of those in the community and build social solidarity was once again fulfilled with great fervour.
