Ilma International Girls’ School emerged as 3^rd runners up in the Senior Category (Team B) at the Inter International Schools Scrabble Tournament held on 11^th February 2017. Ilma’s team B comprised of:

Hamra Zahir, Hashma Imnisar, Sadiya Cassim, Hafsa Amani Naeemullah & Sameeha Anzary who received certificates at the event.

This event was organized by Lyceum, Wattala for the 10^th consecutive year. Mr. Kandhan Mahendran, President of the Sri Lanka Scrabble League (SLSL) was the Chief Guest and Dr. Lalantha Amarasinghe was the Chief Adjudicator. 10 Schools, comprising of College of World Education, Gateway College – Kandy, Ilma International Girls’ School, Leeds International School, Lyceum International School Panadura, Nugegoda and Wattala, OKI International School – Wattala, Royal Institute, Stafford International School and the British School of Colombo participated in this tournament. A total of 36 teams comprising of 5 players each participated in 3 age categories namely Junior, Intermediate and Senior.

Ilma also participated at the following competitions conducted by the Sri Lanka Scrabble League this year:

• All Island Scrabble Championship held at Lyceum, Wattala
• Inter School Scrabble Tournament held at Lyceum, Nugegoda
• Scrabbler of the year 2017 held at Lyceum, Nugegoda
